Boundaries

I have the right to expect a marriage free from pornography.

  • If you use pornography or masturbate I will need to sleep apart for a minimum of 1 night to spend time healing through gospel study, meditation, and self-care.

I have a right to transparency, honesty, and open communication in my marriage.

  • If I discover a lie in any form I will need to sleep apart for a minimum of 1 night to spend time healing through gospel study, meditation, and self care.
  • If I feel that my feelings are disregarded, minimized, or I am made to feel guilt about my feelings I will end the conversation, and take time to reconnect with myself and my truth through gospel study, meditation, and self-care.

I have the right to a sexual relationship that is connection-driven.

  • If I feel that connection is not the motivating factor behind sexual requests or actions I will stop immediately not re-engage in sex until I feel it is safe to do so.

I have a right to seek the help I need to be physically, emotionally, and spiritually nurtured and safe.

  • If I feel the need to talk to anyone about what I am going through I will do so.

I have a right to live FREE FROM FEAR.

  • If I find myself fearful I will take time that day to participate in extra gospel study in order to build my relationship with my Savior, who can help me see the truth and set aside my fears.

I will do the following in order to promote emotional, spiritual, and physical health:

  • I will seek the companionship of the Holy Ghost daily by doing any and/or all of the following: Reading my scriptures, praying morning and night, studying conference talks, studying other gospel materials, listening to church music.
  • I will participate in one self-care item every day.
  • I will not snoop unless I feel a prompting to do so by the spirit.
  • I will participate in intellectual, physical, emotional, and mental self-care at least once a week.
